Technical documentation
Support and assistance in technical documentation
Brightcore Technical Documentation supports its clients through consulting, technical assistance and structuring services for technical documentation, in support of the understanding, operation and evolution of existing technical data.
Interventions are carried out as technical support, in line with project requirements, operational constraints, the client’s internal standards and current documentation practices.
Analysis and structuring of existing documentation
We work on existing sets of technical documentation in order to analyse their structure, content and overall consistency, in particular to:
- identify technical or documentary inconsistencies,
- analyse gaps between available documents and actual systems,
- assess the completeness, readability and usability of documentation sets,
- identify duplicates, obsolete or uncontrolled documents,
- establish a structured overview of existing technical data.
This phase aims to establish a clear and shared baseline to define the necessary restructuring or reorganisation actions.
Reorganisation and restructuring of technical files
We support our clients in reorganising and structuring their technical documentation, in particular through:
- reorganisation of folder structures and classification systems,
- clarification of documentary scopes (machines, installations, functions),
- alignment of drawing sets and technical files,
- structuring documentation by project, equipment or system,
- definition of naming and versioning rules.
These interventions aim to restore readable, coherent and usable technical documentation for day-to-day operations.
Harmonisation of documentation practices and standards
When required, we support the harmonisation of documentation practices, in particular to:
- define or formalise documentation structuring standards,
- standardise formats, conventions and presentation rules,
- align documentation practices across teams or sites,
- adapt documentation to the actual use by technical teams,
- improve consistency between different technical disciplines (electrical, automation, mechanical, etc.).
This approach is part of a support and clarification logic and does not replace the client’s quality or regulatory processes.
Review, update and consolidation of technical documents
We also work on the review and consolidation of existing technical documents, in particular to:
- correct technical or formal inconsistencies,
- update documents following untracked changes,
- adapt documentation to the actual state of installations,
- improve document readability and understanding,
- consolidate reference drawing sets and technical files.
These interventions help restore a reliable and usable documentation baseline for technical support, operation or future evolution.
Organisation of information access and retrieval
We support the structuring of systems for accessing and retrieving technical documentation, in particular through:
- clarification of classification and indexing logic,
- improvement of technical file navigation,
- adaptation of structures to the practices of field, maintenance or engineering teams,
- alignment of existing digital media (folders, DMS, documentation repositories).
The objective is to facilitate access to relevant technical information without multiplying tools or adding unnecessary complexity to existing processes.
Documentation environments and management tools
We work with the documentation environments used by the client (file structures, collaborative tools, DMS, internal platforms), depending on project usage and constraints.
When required by the context, we support the restructuring and reorganisation of technical data within a target environment, based on existing documentation.
Projects do not involve automatic migration or systematic recovery of the full documentation history.
The service consists of a controlled structuring of technical data, aiming to preserve consistency, traceability and usability of documentation, within the limits of available information.
Environments and tools are defined during the project scoping phase, in full transparency, particularly regarding access rights, responsibilities and scopes of intervention.
